PURPOSE:To switch and select a various kinds of operating modes without necessitating to provide specially an external switch for the switching of the operating modes, by selecting its own operating mode corresponding to the presence/absence of the loading of an adaptor, and of the loading of a recording carrier. CONSTITUTION:In a system controller 17, a jacket detecting switch 17a closed by the detection of the loading of a jacket incorporating the recording carrier(for example, FD) on a deck part 9, and an adaptor detecting switch 17b which detects the loading of the adaptor, are provided. Also, a single photography/ consecutive photography selection switch 17c which selects a single photography or a consecutive photography, a field/frame selection switch 17d which selects recording or reproduction of a field image or a frame image, a trigger switch 17e being interlocked to a shutter button, and an eject switch 17f closed at time of the ejecting operation of the jacket, are provided, And the titled device is constituted so that a signal which goes to a low level at the time of closing the switch even when either switch is closed, is supplied to the system controller 17.
