PURPOSE:To obtain the titled resin exhibiting excellent light-resistance and giving a dyed material having remarkably improved light fastness, by mixing a hindered phenol antioxidant and a (hypo)phosphite antioxidant at a specific ratio and adding the mixture to a polyester resin. CONSTITUTION:The objective polyester resin contains 0.05-2.0wt% antioxidants consisting of (A) a hindered phenol antioxidant and (B) a phosphite antioxidant and/or (C) a hypophosphite antioxidant. The amounts of the antioxidants satisfy the formula 0.2<=(B+C)/A<=5.0 (A, B, and C are molar numbers of the components A, and B and C, respectively). The ratio of the molar number (P) of trivalent phosphorus atom in the antioxidants to the molar number (Ti) of active titanium atom in the polyester resin satisfies the formula P/Ti>=1.0. At least 70mol% of the constituent residue is butylene terephthalate residue. The polymerization catalyst is e.g. titanium metal and its amount is <=50ppm.
