PURPOSE:To measure sizes of an object to be measured at plural positions at a time by using a single device by providing a window part which allows plural signal extraction ranges to be set so that an optional signal is extracted from a binarization signal obtained through a line sensor. CONSTITUTION:Image of different parts of the object 100 to be measured are picked up by CCD line sensors 2A and 2B and their linear images are converted 10 into binarization signals, which are supplied to a window part 20. The window part 20 have, for example, eight kinds of windows so as to set properly a bit range for obtaining a partial binarization signal so that the picked-up parts are obtained individually at a time. Then, a scale part 30 is provided which consists of eight kinds of scales which are selected properly so as to correspond to one of those windows. Each scale can specifies measurement contents and arithmetic contents by an input means. Each scale counts input bits and latches detection contents temporarily under the command of a write command circuit 30a. An arithmetic part 40 reads the data out of a latch circuit and processes the data into necessary numeric information by arithmetic processing according to a scheduled program, thereby outputting the information.
