PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal display device having a uniform intersubstrate spacing by printing a UV curing type resin onto substrates, then combining the substrates and projecting UV rays from the outside of the transparent stock of a vacuum sealing device to cure the UV curing type resin. CONSTITUTION:Spacers are uniformly dispersed on one substrate and the UV curing type resin of a radical type is printed as a sealing material 6 on the other substrate, then both the substrates 7 are combined. Rubber-like suction bodies 2 adhered to a frame 5 adhere tightly to a glass plate 1 when the upper and lower substrates 7 are set in the vacuum contact device and the air is removed through a vent hole 4. Furthermore, a flexible rubber-like sheet 3 is lifted to press the substrates 7 to the glass plate 1 with a uniform pressure. The UV rays are projected in this state from the outside of the plate 1 to cure the sealing material 6 and a liquid crystal is injected into the spacing, by which the liquid crystal display device is obtd. This liquid crystal display device has the uniform intersubstrate spacing and the defective orientation of the liquid crystal by uncuring of the sealing material even near the sealing material is obviated.
