PURPOSE:To obtain the big coercive force in such a way that a mixture of Mn, Al an C is melted for the manufacture of a base alloy with a view to realizing the amount of C to be added in the big ratio of 1 to 3 wt.%. CONSTITUTION:During a melting process, a mixture of Mn, Aacute angle and C is melted to produce a melt Mn and Al are mixed in the atomic weight ratio of 51 to 59 at.% for Mn and 49 to 41 at.% for Al; C is added to this mixture in the weight percentage ratio of 1 to 3 wt.%. During a quenching process, the melt is quenched by a single-roll liquid-quenching method, and is transformed into a thin-sheet-like alloy. During a subsequent heat-treatment and pulverizing process, the thin-sheet-like alloy is heat-treated and pulverized in order to obtain magnetic powders. During a final forming process, a binding material is added to the magnetic powders, and this mixture is mixed and kneaded, and is shaped into the desired form of an Mn-Al-C-bonded magnet.
