MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve an electromagnetic conversion characteristic by forming a binder of a resin component having an epoxy group and incorporating water of 1-5 times the number of moles of the epoxy group in the binder into the ferromagnetic powder. CONSTITUTION:The binder is formed of the resin component having the epoxy group and water of 1-5 times (more preferably 2-5 times) the number of moles of the epoxy group in the binder is incorporated into the ferromagnetic powder. The binder is preferably a cured body formed by adding a polyisocyanate compd. to a vinyl chloride copolymer and polyurethane resin. The dispersion state of the ferromagnetic powder is than more improved than in the case of using other resin components. The ferromagnetic powder is preferably fine ferromagnetic metal powder in which the metal-component is >=75wt% and >=80wt% of the metal-component is one kind of a ferromagnetic metal or alloy or the alloy which may contain other components within a <=20wt% range of the metal-component. The dispersibility of the ferromagnetic powder in the magnetic layer is thereby exceedingly improved and the electromagnetic conversion characteristic of the magnetic recording medium is eventually improved to greater extent.
