PURPOSE:To improve operability with a software protective system by detecting the position of a defective track sector of a fixed disk when the system is started and deciding the information of the sector position as unjustly copied information when this position information does not coincide with the position information on an initial defective track sector that is previously registered. CONSTITUTION:The position of a defective track sector of a fixed disk 4 is detected by a fixed disk controller 3 before the service is started. Then this detected position is stored in a main memory 2 and the position information on an initial defective track sector of the disk 4 that is registered as a file is read into the memory 2 via the controller 3 as soon as an operating system is registered. Then both position information are compared with each other and the service is started when coincidence is obtained between both information. While the service is not started when no coincidence is obtained. |
