PURPOSE:To prevent vibration during cutting, and to reduce cutting resistance, by providing a chip discharge groove having an arcuated cross-sectional shape. CONSTITUTION:Two chip discharge grooves having an arcuated cross-sectional shape are formed in a tip body 22, extending from the forward end to the rear end of the tip body, and therefore, a chip may be smoothly curled. Similarly, a chip which is curled smoothly in the direction of the arrow B from a cutting edge 26, may be produced. Accordingly, it is possible to easily part a chip into pieces, and therefore, it is possible to smoothly discharge chips. As a result, it is possible to prevent vibration and to reduce cutting resistance, thereby it is possible to reduce the power for cutting.
