PURPOSE:To prevent resolution of a display tube from being deteriorated on the lower part of its screen surface by performing glare-proof processing on an outer surface of a front glass panel of a cathode-ray tube so that glossiness becomes low at the upper part of the screen and high at the lower part of the screen. CONSTITUTION:A front panel 1 of a display tube is divided into the following parts: an upper part of a screen where glare-proof processing is particularly required, and a lower part of the screen where priority exists in resolution. Then strength of the glare-proof processing is graded. First, a glare effect is upgraded at the upper part of the screen by roughing recessed and projected parts to decrease glossiness so that irregular reflection of outer light is reduced, and next the resolution is upgraded at the lower part of the screen by densifying the recessed and projected parts to increase glossiness so that transmitted light can be prevented from being scattered on the image. When glare-proof processing is performed in the recessed and projected processes so that glossiness within the similar screen at the lower part of the screen becomes three times or mere as large in grading ratio as that at the upper part of the screen, resolution can be prevented from being deteriorated at the lower part of the screen. |
