PURPOSE:To purge an injection area of sand from circumjacent water with high pressure gas to be jetted out of a ring nozzle as well as to positively jet the sand to the specified cleaning spot of an underwater structure at the specified spray velocity, by setting up the ring surrounding the tip part of an air jet gun. CONSTITUTION:Sand 3 is jetted out of an air jet gun 20 toward a cleaning sport of an underwater structure by actuation of a compressor and simultaneously high pressure gas is jetted out of a ring nozzle 23 whereby rust, oystershells, barnacles, or the like sticking to a surface of the underwater structure are removed for cleaning. At this time, an injection area of the sand 3 is purged from circumjacent water with the high pressure gas jetted out of the ring nozzle 23, whereby a spray velocity of the sand 3 is restrained from decrement, thereby preventing any variation in the injection direct ion from occurring.
