PURPOSE:To obtain a separator capable of using in a battery having nonaqueous polar solvent by using fibers obtained by melt-spinning thermotropic liquid crystal polyester. CONSTITUTION:As thermotropic liquid crystal polyester fiber, the fiber of all aromatic polyester containing no aliphatic series in principal chain is suitable for use.
