PURPOSE:To attain small size and low cost for the titled device by using a signal line connecting part for date setter and for a line terminal equipment in common in the connecting device connecting a line terminal equipment executing data communication to a line. CONSTITUTION:The line connecting device 18 consists of a network control section 4, a communication section 5 storing information in the communication with the data setter 8 and converting the information of the line terminal equipment 2 into a communication text and sending it, and a signal line connecting part 15 connecting a signal line only at the use of the data and connecting only a signal line of the terminal equipment 2 at the use of the terminal equipment 2. A signal line 17 of the setter 8 is connected at first to the connecting part 15 in operation and an individual registration number of the like is stored in a central arithmetic control section of the communication section 5. Then the setter 8 is removed of the connecting section 16, the signal line 16 of the terminal equipment 2 is connected to send the terminal data to the communication section 5 and the information is sent to a prescribed equipment via the network control section 4 and a public line 1.
