PURPOSE:To achieve the quick detection of screen breakage, the decrease of a defective article generation-rate, the improvement of the reliability of a printing machine, etc., by stopping a drive mechanism by detecting a minute change in a screen frame when a screen is broken. CONSTITUTION:When a screen is broken, the tension of the screen is changed and the deflection of a screen frame 40 is changed. Therefore, when the deflection of the screen frame 40 in the normal time in which the screen is disposed with tension is changed, it is detected with a sensor 2 to be taken out as a signal for screen breakage being generated. Then, the sensor 2 and a printing machine drive mechanism are connected with each other, and all the drive mechanism can be stopped by the signal of the sensor 2 when the screen is broken. Consequently, the quick detection of screen breakage, the decrease of a defective article generation-rate, the increase of productivity, the improvement of the reliability of a printing machine, etc. can be achieved.
