PURPOSE:To confirm, by a user, whether or not a designated address is the address of a desired program by storing one share of picture of a reproducing video signal as a static image signal, and displaying a static picture stored into the picture even during the high speed access period. CONSTITUTION:A writing control circuit 4 receives a search access command signal S1, and during one field period from the position of a vertical synchronizing signal in a reproducing video signal N obtained through a synchronizing separating circuit 5 at the beginning after the command signal S1 is generated, a writing command signal W is generated to a video RAM 7. The video RAM 7, while a reading command signal R is generated, reads repeatedly the reproducing video signal for one field written immediately before it and outputs it as a static image signal M. When a designating address D1 is designated, a comparing circuit 11 compares it with a scanning address D2 written during the vertical flyback period of the reproducing video signal N and read by an address reading circuit 12, and until both are coincident, a pick-up 1 is moved.
