PURPOSE:To form a developed color original image having absorbancy at 700-950nm and to improve the optical readability of a character, by forming a recording material by supporting a divinyl phthalide compound represented by a specific general formula on a support. CONSTITUTION:A divinyl phthalide compound represented by formula I (wherein R<1>-R<4> are a 8 or less C alkyl group, a 5-7C cycloalkyl group, a benzyl group which may have a halogen atom or a 4 or less C alkyl group as a substituent or a phenyl group, X<1>-X<5> are a hydrogen atom, a 8 or less C alkyl group, an alkoxy group or a halogen atom, and X<6> is a hydrogen atom, a 8 or less C alkyl group or an alkoxy group) is dissolved in a solvent to prepare a coating solution which is, in turn, applied to a support such as paper and dried to form a recording material. |
