PURPOSE:To input and output a picture while a picture quality is maintained at a level higher than the resolution of a picture memory, by connecting a high-resolution picture input-output device and low-resolution picture memory with each other by means of a resolution converting circuit using a density averaging and linear interpolation circuits. CONSTITUTION:A resolution converting circuit is constituted of a buffer circuit 50 and two-dimensional linear interpolation circuit 40. The buffer circuit 50 is provided with an address counter 51, two-line buffer 52, and latches 53-56. The two-line buffer 52 simultaneously holds the four points of data A-D of two lines quantity necessary for interpolation and the latches 53-56 simultaneously supply data of these four points to the two-dimensional liner interpolation circuit 40. The operation for converting the resolution four times more accurate is carried out in such a way that data of two lines are buffered by the two-line buffer 52 out of the picture data read out from a picture memory 1. Then each value of the surrounding four points A-D of a point to be interpolated is inputted to the two-dimensional linear interpolation circuit 40. At the circuit 40 densities of interpolating points are successively calculated and sent to a printer 60. |
