PURPOSE:To reduce noise and to enable high-speed printing, by a method wherein recording electrodes with an ink adhering at the tip ends thereof are disposed opposedly to a counter electrode through a recording medium so that they can relatively freely travel in two directions at right angles along the surface of the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:When the change-over of a specific switch 13 conducted by a control circuit 16 results in application of a voltage +Va to a recording electrode 8, the electric field between the selected recording electrode 8 and a counter electrode 3 leads an ink adhering at the tip end of the recording electrode 8 to flying to a recording medium 4. Therefore, an image is formed on the recording medium 4 by a method in which a carrier 7 is moved in the X-direction and the recording medium 4 is fed in the Y-direction with the application of a voltage to the desired recording electrode 8. Additionally, the selective voltage application to the recording electrode 8, which is in no-contact with the recording medium 4, makes the ink fly from the desired recording electrode 8, thus reducing noise and enabling high-speed printing. |
