PURPOSE:To retain constant contact and to prevent the breakage of an electro lyte tile by placing a felt- or fabric-like metal fiber current collector between a metal case and each electrode. CONSTITUTION:As the metal fiber, stainless steel long fiber having a diameter of 5-15mum is used. Felt- or fabric-like current collectors 8 made of metal fibers have the softness capable of following the shape change of a fuel electrode 2 and an oxidizing agent electrode 3 and the permeability of reaction gas for supplying it to each electrode. The good contact between the case and each electrode is retained and the reaction gas is smoothly supplied. The shape change of each electrode is absorbed and the deforming stress to an electrolyte tile 1 is eliminated and the breakage of the tile 1 can be prevented. |
