The device for supporting and protecting a water meter against frost comprises a box 2 fixed to the ground 3 and containing the water meter 1. The latter is connected to a water inlet pipe 4 and to a water outlet pipe 5. The water inlet and outlet pipes 4, 5 are arranged along two heat pipes 6, 7. The latter and the water pipes are surrounded by sleeves 8, 9 partially buried in the ground, and the inside of which is filled with a thermally insulating material 8a. Use for preventing the water meters from freezing and for facilitating the installation of the boxes containing these meters. <IMAGE>
