PURPOSE:To impart excellent semi-permanent light resistance, by in corporating a phenol/phosphite antioxidant and/or a phenol/hypophosphite antioxidant in a polyester resin in a specified weight ratio. CONSTITUTION:0.05-2wt% phenol/phosphite antioxidant and/or phenol/ hypophosphite antioxidant are/is incorporated in a polyester resin to improve light resistance. Examples of the phenol/phosphite antioxidants are compds. of formula I (wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 are each a 1-16C alkyl; R7 and R8 are each a 1-5C alkyl; and n is 1-12). An example of the phenol/ hypophosphite antioxidant is a compd. of formula II. The resulting light-resistant polyester resin is suitable for use as a material for fibers, films, etc.
