Exhaust gas turbocharger and method of improving the efficiency

In a method for improving the efficiency of an exhaust gas turbocharger, the bypass mass flow blown off is released by means of an ejector nozzle and introduced into the exhaust gas mass flow so that the counter-pressure after the turbine is reduced. For this purpose the orifice of the bypass duct into the exhaust gas duct is designed as an ejector nozzle which introduces the bypass mass flow into the exhaust gas mass flow of the turbine roughly parallel or at an acute angle of up to a maximum of about 30 DEG .
