The invention relates to suspensions in the technology of motor vehicles known, under the designation of suspension of the MacPherson type. This suspension, allowing a wheel 20 to be orientated along a pivoting axis 41 defined by a lower ball joint 411 and an upper bearing 412, comprises a wheel support 30, a swinging arm 63, a telescopic member 62 and a spring 61. The suspension is such that the telescopic member comprises two parallel sliding elements 621, 622, the spring 61 is placed above the wheel, beside the elements and practically coaxially with the axis 41, and a rotating part 4162 of the bearing 412 serves to support the spring and to laterally fix the elements, using elastic joints 6214.
