PURPOSE:To record signal by standard voice and to facilitate the adjustment of voice recording time by permitting a voice synthesizing unit to convert a character signal outputted from a sentence composing device into a voice signal, compressing the signal in terms of time base and magnetically recording it. CONSTITUTION:The sentence composing device 20 outputs the character signal 20e corresponding to a character displayed on a display 20b at intervals corresponding to the display pitch of a character. The voice synthesizing unit 21 converts the character signal 20e into the voice signal 22. It is amplified by amplifier 23 and inputted to a time base compressor 24, converted into an analog signal 27a, and recorded on the track of a floppy disk 29 through a recording head 28. The voice recorded in such a way goes to a standard voice synthesized with the voice synthesizing unit 21 and speaking can be settled in the voice recording time.
