PURPOSE:To miniaturize a ribbon cartridge housing box by a method wherein a folding ribbon guide guiding an ink ribbon is provided at both side end parts of a case of a ribbon cartridge. CONSTITUTION:A ribbon guide 16 is provided at both side end parts of a case 11 of a ribbon cartridge 10, and the base end part 17a of the inner wall 17 of the ribbon guide 16 is put on a pin 19 erected between the case 11 and a cover 12 and is fitted thereto rotatably. When the ribbon cartridge 10 is used, the ribbon guide 16 is rotated counterclockwise around the pin 19 as shown by an arrow and an engaging pawl 20 formed on an outer wall 18 is engaged with a projection 21 inside the case 11, whereby the ribbon guide 16 is engaged and retained in the state that it is extended nearly at a right angle to the front wall of the ribbon cartridge 10. At the time of carriage of the ribbon cartridge, etc., the ribbon guide 16 is folded and housed in a housing box. |
