PURPOSE:To obtain the title compsn. having excellent water resistance, an excellent ability to laminate boards, a high initial bonding strength and good workability and productivity, by blending a synthetic rubber latex with starch, a filler, an organopolysiloxane and a nonionic surfactant. CONSTITUTION:An adhesive compsn. contains 100pts.wt. (on a solid basis) synthetic rubber latex, 1-100pts.wt. starch, 5-500pts.wt. filler, 0.02-5pts.wt. organopolysiloxane and 10-5pts.wt. nonionic surfactant. Carboxyl-modified styrene/butadiene copolymer latex is particularly preferred as the synthetic rubber latex. As the filler, ground calcium carbonate having an average particle size of 1-20mu is preferred. The filler is used in an amount of pref. 20-300pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. (on a solid basis) synthetic rubber latex.
