PURPOSE:To provide the title compsn. which can be cured at low temp. and does not have any adverse effect on the performance of its coating film due to the migration or the dissolving out of a catalyst, by dispersing specified fine resin particles in an aq. dispersion of an electrodepositable cationic aq. urethane resin. CONSTITUTION:An ethylenically unsaturated monomer and/or a crosslinking comonomer are/is suspension- or emulsion-polymerized and water is removed therefrom to obtain fine resin particles having a particle size of 0.01-20mu. A urethane-forming reaction catalyst composed of at least one metal selected from the group consisting of Sn, Pb, Bi, Ti and Ca and/or a tert. amine is dissolved in a solvent which dissolves the catalyst but does not dissolve said resin particle to obtain a soln. The resin particles are impregnated with the soln. to obtain fine resin particles (B) on the surfaces of which the catalyst is supported. 1-50wt% (based on the amount of solid of the component A) component B is dispersed in an aq. dispersion of an electrodepositable cationic aq. urethane resin (A) to obtain the title compsn. The nonvolatile matter content of paint formed from the compsn. is adjusted to 10-20% and the paint is electrodeposited in a dry film thickness of 15-30mu and cured at 100-180 deg.C.
