PURPOSE:To rationally obtain a vehicle trimming material of a light weight and a simple structure, by reacting a polyisocyanate material infiltrated into a mat-like fibrous reinforcement arranged together with a skinning material in a mold so that the formed polyisocyanate may have a specified density. CONSTITUTION:In the production of a vehicle trimming material comprising a base formed by infiltrating a polyisocyanurate into a mat-like fibrous reinforcement and forming it and a skinning material laminated on this base, the skinning material and the mat-like fibrous reinforcement are arranged in the cavity of a mold so that the both may be contacted with each other under pressure. Such an amount of a polyisocyanurate material comprising a polyol, a polyisocyanate and a trimerization catalyst that a polyisocyanurate having a density which is 1.0-1.9 times that of a polyisocyanurate obtained from its free expansion is poured into the mold and reacted. As the mat-like fibrous reinforcement, used, one comprising glass fiber is preferable, and one comprising glass fiber of an average diameter of 15-20mu and an average length >=50mm is particularly desirable. |
