USE:A diagnosticum and remedy for cancers. PREPARATION:For example, 18<2>-decarboxypheophorbide shown by formula II is treated with an acetic solution of hydrogen bromide, reacted with a compound shown by the formula HO(CH2CH2)mH and end OH group is acetylated and protected. Then the resultant compound is reacted with a reducing agent such as sodium boron hydride, etc., hydrolyzed and deprotected to give a compound shown by formula I.
