The present invention improves the performance in progress and longevity of tools for drilling rocks at a great depth. The body of the tool consists of a steel support 1 covered with a hard material, on which cutting members 3 are crimped, arranged in the form of substantially radial blades. In all the sectors between the blades, the body is cut along surfaces which are used as a deflector for the irrigation of the working face by jets, the orientation of which forms an angle of between 10 and 60 degrees in relation to a line parallel to the axis of the tool. <IMAGE>
