<p>A liposome composition useful in the treatment of dry eye. The composition includes an aqueous suspension of liposomes whose lipid composition preferably includes about 70-85 mole percent of hydrogenated phosphatidylcholine, and 15-30 mole percent of benzyldimethylstearyl-ammonium chloride. The aqueous suspension of liposomes is buffered to a pH of between about 6.2 and 6.7. The suspension is stable on storage at room temperature for several months. This suspension provides increased retention of moisturizing lipids when used for dry eye treatment.</p> |
