The invention relates to a hydraulic high-speed lifting press of the framework type having a pressing table, a crosshead and a pressing ram, which is movable therebetween, for moulding, coating and pressing parts which cover a large area, have thin walls and are made of plastic or plastic compounds, or fibre-reinforced plastic mats to make moulded parts, having a pressing ram which supports the upper mould half and can be raised and lowered together with a hydraulic high-speed device for the return stroke and a hydraulic short-stroke device for the working stroke. The invention is characterised in that the pressing ram (6) is guided in the return stroke by a hydraulic high-speed travelling mechanism (9 and 10) such that it can be raised and lowered and is guided in a sliding manner by means of pressing rods (5), the pressing rods (5) can be coupled via one hydraulic collet locking system (3, 7 and 13) each to the annular cylinders (2) in a travel-synchronised or non-positive manner and the working stroke can be executed by means of short-stroke cylinders (4), which are fastened to the top of the pressing ram (6), and via the end faces of the pressing rods (5), plunger pistons (8) being preloaded under hydraulic counterpressure shortly before locking with respect to the short-stroke cylinder (4). <IMAGE>
