In a method of measuring a fluid volume flowing through a tube by means of the magnetic nuclear spin resonance, the magnetisable nuclei of the fluid volume are aligned by means of a magnetic d.c. field and synchronised by means of a magnetic alternating field. To achieve a measurement result which is independent of the respective aggregate state of the substance to be measured, a nuclear spin resonance is achieved with continuous timing of a 90 DEG pulse whose interval is short relative to the nuclear spin relaxation, a voltage amplitude induced by the incoming protons being a measure for the volume flow.
