Arrester mechanism for the projectile of a weaving loom is arranged on a slide which is adjustable in the weft direction. The arrester mechanism is adjustable at least in the direction at right angles to the weft direction, but pref. both horizontally and vertically. Arrester mechanism has a brake channel in which the nose of the projectile, carrying the pick can penetrate. This mechanism is arranged on a slide, mounted on the main support of the loom which is adjustable in the weft direction C. A rib of the slide can slide in the groove of the support. A U-shaped holder on the slide actually carries the arrester mechanism. The holder is horizontally adjustable by two ribs and grooves and is locked in position by the nut H. The arrester mechanism is vertically adjustable by two ribs and grooves, locked in position by the nut V.
