A horizontal extrusion axis press (1, 101) comprises a case (3) wherein a horizontal cylindrical cavity (4) having an inlet (4b) for a billet (2) to be extruded is formed, a pusher (18) extending along the horizontal axis (x-x), associated with a press cylinder/piston unit (7) and mounted on a moving element (15) guided for movement in a transverse direction (y-y) to the horizontal axis (x-x), as well as a motive means (19) for driving the moving element (15) from a first position, or extrusion position, whereat the pusher (18) is removed from the inlet (4b) out of the way, to a billet introduction position whereat the pusher (18) is aligned to the case cavity (4). |
