The crop baling press which forms cylindrical bales, binds the bales with a cord (F). The cord is wound around the bale by a swinging arm (13) which is held stationary during the formation of the bale by a spring-loaded locking lever (27). The swinging arm pivots about a point (15) and is attached at a point (16) by a connecting rod (17) to a pivot (18) on a rotating disc (19). The disc imparts the swinging motion to the arm. The disc has teeth (21) around most of the periphery, with a sector (22) without teeth. When the arm is not operating, the driving worm (23) is aligned with the sector. When the locking lever releases the arm the teeth of the disc come into engagement with the worm. |
