Seed drill with a central supply container which is carried in the front-mounted manner by a farm tractor, and with a metering system which feeds the metered seed in adjustable quantities to seed coulters or other discharge elements arranged behind the farm tractor, a conveying device being provided for conveying the seed from the front-mounted supply container to the seed coulters arranged behind the farm tractor, there being arranged behind the farm tractor an intermediate container, to which the seed is fed from the central supply container via the conveying device, there being arranged on the intermediate container the metering members of the metering system, from which the seed is fed to the seed coulters or to other discharge elements. In order to develop the seed drill according to the main patent in an advantageous way, provision is made for arranging in the intermediate container (12) switches (22, 23) by means of which the drive of the conveying device (18) can be switched on and off. <IMAGE>
