Tensioning-roller arrangement on a belt drive

A tensioning roller of a belt drive is fastened to a lever arm which can be pivoted about an axis and on which there engages, furthermore, a bending/compression spring which applies the required belt-tensioning force. An increased belt-tensioning force due to thermal expansion within the belt drive is reduced by pivoting the lever arm until an equilibrium of forces has been established at the lever arm between the force of the bending/compression spring and the belt-tensioning force on the tensioning roller. The bending/compression spring is advantageously produced from bimetal.
