<p>A beam is provided with flanges (1, 2) of wood and a web (3) of zigzag configuration which essentially comprises rods (4) of metal which are fixedly retained in plastic bodies (9) set in recesses (5) in the flanges (1, 2). The rods are provided with angled portions (20) which are accommodated in the plastic bodies, and the rods (4), in a central region of the beam, are slighter than in the end regions of the beam. Furthermore, the rods (4) which, on loading of the beam, are exposed to compressive loading are suitably thicker than the remaining rods (4).</p> |
