The invention relates to a protective means for a steel lattice mast, whose supports (1) rest on foundations, in particular for a steel lattice mast of an aerial conductor line. The invention provides that, supported on the foundation of each support (1), prefabricated shells (3 and 4) consisting of reinforced concrete are fitted together such that they enclose the support (1). In the region of the abutting edges (2), the shells (3 and 4) are, for example, thinner than elsewhere with the result that openings for transverse struts of the steel lattice mast are to be provided there. The thin region is subsequently reinforced with reinforcing steel (6). Wire meshings (8) which retain electric lines are arranged on the inner surface of the shells (3 and 4). Said lines are in connection with a signal generator in a control centre, said generator emitting a signal when a line is damaged. The remaining space (9) within the shells (3 and 4) is filled with reinforced concrete. The protective means can be easily mounted even in poorly accessible terrain. It protects the support (1) of the steel lattice mast from external influences.
