The motor vehicle transmission system, with steplessly-variable belt drive, has a driving pulley (2) with a radial groove (21) closed on the outside, into which a stationary pitot tube (20) extends. The tube receives the pressure of fluid in the groove, producing a signal dependent on the speed of rotation. An input shaft can be coupled by a clutch to the pulley. The clutch (6) is of the wet-plate type operated by fluid pressure, and the input shaft (1) has a second radial groove (23) closed on the outside, into which a second stationary pitot tube (24) extends. The second tube generates a second fluid pressure signal, dependent on the speed of shaft rotation. A valve (26) transmits whichever of the pressures is the highest, and the operating pressure of the clutch is controlled dependent on the pressure signal. |
