<p>The simulator is intended to produce short, intense electromagnetic pulses. The simulator comprises a conical-type antenna (1) with its counterweight (2). A parachute canopy (4) is combined with the antenna of which the radiating elements (10) of the conical part of the antenna are combined with the rigging lines of the parachute. A pod (3) arranged at the point of the conical part contains a device for exciting the antenna, formed by a pulse generator with its power supply and manometric release. Such a structure, thanks to the counterweight (2) which replaces the ground plane, enables the simulator to function whilst it is parachuting and avoids any ground structure. Application to the testing, at reduced cost, of the electromagnetic shielding of electronic hardware. <IMAGE></p> |
