<p>A metal melting furnace equipped with a preheating tower (3) hav ing a plurality of fork-shaped shelf-plates extending into the inside thereof, comprising a gas mixing chamber provided in the lower end portion of the tower (3), communicating with the upper portion of the melting furnace, ducts (10,11,12,14,16,17) for circulating combustion exhaust gas from the top portion (6) of the tower (3) into the gas mixing chamber, dampers (7,13,15) arranged in the ducts for controlling the amount of the combustion exhaust gas circulated into the gas mixing chamber, and a plurality of nozzles (17) connected to the duct (16) and opening into the gas mixing chamber.</p> |
