Surface plate-coating formulation for preventing the adhesion of steel ingots is prepd.. Thus, A mixt. of 10-15 blast furnace slag, 40-60 feldspar (Na2O-6SiO2.Al2O3), 20-30 water glass (Na2O-SiO2), 2-5 graphite, and 2-5 wt.% Fe-Si is heated to melting temp. of 1150≦̸C and mixed with water at the ratio of 50:50. The mixt. is ready for use.
