<p>A device for automatically changing toolplates (l2) in pipe-working machines. The device comprises a movable supporting unit (22) for supporting at least one toolplate (l2) and a gripping head (l8) for removing the plates (l2), said head (l2) being provided with pliers (25) for gripping the plates (l2). The head (l8) is rotatably supported around an axis parallel to the spindles (l3) of the working machine which can slide lengthwise in order to engage and respectively disengage the t oolplates (l2) of the spindle (l3) and of the supporting unit (22), as well as to reverse the positions of the toolplates (l2) with respect to one another, whenever an old plate (l2) with worn out tools must be replaced with a plate (l2) provided with new tools. Transfer means (20, 2l) are provided for transferring the plate-supporting units (22) from a position above the spindles (l3) of the machine in which the plates (l2) are replaced, to a holding position and towards a plate servicing position.</p> |
