A field deflection circuit comprising a sawtooth generator. This generator is provided with a storage element, for example a capacitor (C1), first means (I H, S1) for causing the quantity of information stored in the storage element to change in one direction during a first part of the field period and second means (I V, S2) for causing the said quantity to change in the opposite direction during the remaining second part of the field period so that an essentially sawtooth-shaped variation is produced. The sawtooth generator is also provided with a control loop (R, C2, A) for rendering the mean value of the change during the second part of the field period equal to the mean value of the change during the first part of the field period.
