PURPOSE:To allow a carriage provided with a towing function to tow a carriage which is in trouble to a stand-by position and to prevent a system from being shut down owing to the trouble, by providing at least one of plural carriages with the function of towing other carriages. CONSTITUTION:Normally plural carriages 11 take pallets fitted with raw works out of a pallet loop 10 to carry them in respective pallet changers PC1-PCn of plural machine tools MT1-MTn, and also take pallets fitted with finished works out of the pallet changes to return them to the pallet loop 10. If one carriage 11 breaks down, a down signal is outputted from it and the system stops. Then, a carriage which is in operation at another position and has the towing function detects the signal and runs by itself to the front of the carriage in trouble; and the engagement part at the front of the troubled carriage engages with the engagement hook of the normal carriage, which starts running forth by itself to tow the troubled carriage to the stand-by position PO, disconnects the troubled carriage, and then returns to its original position by itself. |
