CALCULATING SYSTEM AND ITS DEVICE OF CORRELATION VALUE OF PATTERN RECOGNITION

PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a storage part and at the same time to simplify the arithmetic procedure, by giving a convolutional operation of filter function to either one of a standard data or unprocessed data to obtain the correlation with the other data. CONSTITUTION:A convolutional operation of filter function is given to the data showing a standard pattern to obtain a reference data and store. The correlation value with the reference data is obtained for the processing data after undergoing the picture processing. Thus the characters are recognized. If four convolutional operations are carried out for the standard data, only the desired part of the data obtained by the 4th operation is stored. In such a way, the size of a storage device can be reduced down to 1/2-1/4.
