<p>The system comprises a number of image memories (40,50), dyadic look-up tables (10,20), an image operation unit (30), and an image processor (60). The dyadic look-up tables are arranged in parallel, each of which produces data corresponding to a predetermined function of the received image data (I1,I2). An arithmetic operation between the outputs (O1,O2) gives a desired predetermined function (O). For example if an operation I1 power 2 -I2 power 2 is required between two images, two predetermined functions f1 = I1 + I2, f2 = I1 - I2 are stored in dyadic tables whilst an image operation unit executes an operation g = O1 x O2.</p> |
