A moulded plastic fastening arrangement 10 with a number of functions and for insertion into a hole in a wall for the purpose of fastening objects to either solid, thick or thin, hollow walls comprises a basic element 1 and an anchoring element with the basic element 1 arranged inside the hole, and, depending on whether the wall is a solid, thick or a thin, hollow wall, the anchoring element is arranged, respectively, entirely inside, partly inside, or completely behind the wall. The anchoring element consists of elongate anchoring arms 4 which can be folded together for the purpose of insertion into the hole, which arms have mutually fitting sections of sinusoidal wave shape 10a, 11a, 10b, 11b in order to reduce the cross section of the anchoring element and the width required for the hole. In a preferred embodiment, a rigidifying rib 15 is included between the wave crests 10a, 10b and the wave troughs 11a, 11b. The ends 9 of the arms, which are separate from the basic element 1, engage with an external fastening element 16 and in this way bring about strong anchoring in either a solid, thick or a thin, hollow wall. <IMAGE>
