PURPOSE:To obtain a stable silver halide emulsion with high sensitivity by incorporating a monodisperse silver chlorobromide emulsion in an emulsion layer, and said emulsion contains silver iodide and is obtd. by generating halogen inversion with a water soluble bromide on the surface of a silver halide particle in the presence of a color matter, and by effecting chemical sensitisation. CONSTITUTION:The monodisperse silver chlorobromide emulsion is incorporated in at least one of the emulsion layers mounted on a substrate. Said emulsion contains <=3mol% silver iodide and is obtd. by generating halogen inversion on the surface of the silver halide particle contd. in the monodisperse silver halide emulsion having a particle size distribution of <=0.2 coefficient of variation, with 0.6-20mol% a water soluble bromide based on the total amount of silver halide in the presence of at least one kinds of the color matters comprising simple cyanine, carbocyanine and dicarbocyanine color matters, and by effecting the halogen sensitisation. Thus, the titled material having high sensitivity and less tendency for generating pressure desensitivity and pressure fogging is obtd. |
